Major platform update gives businesses greater control over their AI models, knowledge sources, website chatbot and answer quality
Zürich, Switzerland — July 30, 2026 — GenieBot today announced the release of GenieBot 1.2.0, a major update to its AI-powered customer support platform.
The release expands the complete GenieBot workflow, allowing businesses to add their own knowledge sources, select an AI model provider, build a searchable knowledge index, customize and deploy a website chatbot, analyze visitor conversations and improve answers using direct customer feedback.
GenieBot 1.2.0 introduces support for OpenAI, BoldRouter and other LLMs at the individual chatbot level. Businesses can select their preferred provider and model while using their own provider credentials.
The platform now provides provider-specific model selections, API-key validation and clearer information about available and legacy models. This gives businesses greater flexibility when selecting models based on their requirements, existing provider accounts and available model catalogs.
Improved Knowledge Sources and Website Indexing
The redesigned Sources section provides a guided process for adding documents, crawling websites, building a knowledge index and testing chatbot answers.
Website crawling now includes sitemap discovery, duplicate-page handling, optional path restrictions and clearer progress reporting. Administrators can also remove previously crawled pages and restart an index when website content changes.
For larger websites and knowledge bases, GenieBot now provides resumable indexing, progress indicators, source and content-chunk counters and clearer failure messages. Estimated embedding-token usage and related costs are displayed during and after the indexing process.
The platform has also improved how information is retrieved from indexed content. GenieBot combines semantic vector search, keyword matching and chatbot-specific context to provide more relevant answers to both specific and broader visitor questions.
Repeated popular questions can use cached query embeddings, reducing unnecessary embedding requests while continuing to generate answers from the chatbot’s current knowledge.
More Focused and Consistent Chatbot Answers
GenieBot 1.2.0 improves answer formatting across both the chatbot testing environment and the website widget.
Responses are now structured more clearly using paragraphs, lists and concise summaries. The system has also been adjusted to avoid unnecessarily long answers and excessive lists of products or services.
Additional answer controls help the chatbot respond more appropriately to greetings, short test messages, casual prompts, unrelated questions and situations where the available knowledge does not contain a reliable answer.
Fallback responses have also been rewritten to guide visitors toward subjects the chatbot can address, while temporary AI-provider errors are displayed more clearly.
Redesigned Website Chatbot Deployment
The Deploy section has been rebuilt around launcher customization, live preview and copy-ready website embed code.
Businesses can launch their chatbot using the GenieBot icon, an uploaded company logo, a custom SVG icon or a text button. They can also configure the chatbot title, theme, launcher position and other presentation settings.
The embedded widget now includes a redesigned header, clearer visitor and chatbot messages, improved mobile behavior, conversation history, typing indicators and content-aware suggested questions.
Suggested questions are generated from the chatbot’s indexed knowledge and checked before being shown to visitors. Questions that cannot be supported by the available knowledge are not displayed.
The widget also includes approved-domain controls, privacy-policy links, message throttling, burst limits and message-length restrictions. Domain validation is performed before public chatbot requests are processed.
GenieBot attribution remains visible on Free and Hobby plans, while Standard and Small Business plans can remove the attribution and display the configured chatbot name.
Advanced Conversation Analytics
The updated Interactions section provides businesses with a more complete view of chatbot activity.
The dashboard includes summary performance indicators, recent conversations, visitor ratings and conversation details. Businesses can search conversation content, review individual sessions and examine information such as visitor country, browser, device type and operating system when available.
Advanced Analytics for eligible plans provides account-wide and chatbot-specific reporting across conversation activity, ratings, visitor audiences, traffic sources, token consumption and estimated AI costs.
Analytics views include conversation trends, rating health, source distribution, visitor countries and technology usage. Account-level reporting can also be filtered by chatbot, helping businesses compare activity across multiple deployments.
Only conversations in which a visitor has submitted a question are included, preventing greeting-only widget openings from distorting engagement data.
New Quality Center
GenieBot 1.2.0 introduces a dedicated Quality Center that helps businesses improve chatbot answers using real visitor feedback.
Teams can review negatively rated responses, examine positively rated examples and identify potential improvements. Responses can be marked as fixed, ignored or reopened, creating a structured process for managing chatbot quality over time.
Ratings submitted through the website widget are connected directly to the Quality Center, allowing teams to move from visitor feedback to review and corrective action within the GenieBot dashboard.
Strengthened Account and Chatbot Controls
The release also introduces several account and platform-control improvements.
Business registrations now require a company name, full name and business email address. Passwordless registration and email-code login are supported, together with email ownership verification and automated registration protection.
The platform blocks personal and disposable email domains during business-account registration and applies matching validation across the dashboard and backend.
GenieBot has also updated its application logging so operational diagnostics can be retained without recording complete prompts or customer knowledge context.
Updated Website and User Experience
The GenieBot public website has been updated to explain the platform workflow more clearly, from crawling a website and uploading knowledge to selecting a model and deploying a branded support chatbot.
The dashboard has also received refreshed GenieBot branding, clearer navigation and a more consistent interface across chatbot creation, interactions, analytics, quality management and deployment.
New chatbot creation now includes the chatbot name, model provider, selected model and provider API key from the beginning of the setup process.
